Terms of Service
01What VouchTix is
VouchTix is a peer-to-peer marketplace where verified people buy and sell event tickets. We're the platform, not the seller — tickets are sold by other users. We verify identities, hold payments in escrow, and give you tools to transact safely, but the ticket itself comes from another person.
02Who can use it
- You're 18 or older
- You're in Canada
- You passed identity verification (government ID + live face scan via Persona)
- You have one account. One person, one identity, one account — that's the entire point of this app.
03Verification
To list, sell, or buy above the free threshold, you must verify your identity. Verification is handled by Persona; we store only the result (see our Privacy Policy). If you fail verification, you can retry. If you attempt to verify with someone else's ID, you're banned permanently and we may report it.
04Buying
- When you buy, you pay the listed price plus fees, in CAD, through Stripe.
- Your money is held in escrow. The seller is not paid until they pass a live FaceMatch scan confirming their identity.
- After you receive the ticket, you have a 4-hour dispute window. If something's wrong (invalid ticket, wrong event, wrong seats), open a dispute in that window and the seller's payout stays frozen while we investigate.
- If the seller doesn't confirm within 24 hours, the sale is cancelled and you're refunded in full, automatically.
05Selling
- List only tickets you actually have and are allowed to resell.
- When your ticket sells, you have 24 hours to confirm via FaceMatch scan. Miss the window and the sale cancels, the buyer is refunded, and repeated misses hurt your reputation score.
- You're paid out via Stripe after: your FaceMatch passes, the ticket transfers, and the buyer's 4-hour dispute window closes without a valid dispute.
- Selling counterfeit, invalid, or already-used tickets gets you banned and forfeits pending payouts to cover buyer refunds.
06Fees
- Verified Badge subscription: $3.99/month CAD, cancel anytime, takes effect at the end of the billing period.
- Transaction fees are shown at checkout before you pay. No hidden fees.
07What gets you banned
- Verifying with a fake or stolen ID
- Selling tickets you don't have
- Taking deals off-platform to dodge escrow — this is how people get scammed; it defeats the purpose
- Harassment, threats, or hate in messages
- Price manipulation or shill vouching/reviews
Bans are permanent. Because accounts are tied to real verified identities, a banned person can't come back with a new email.
08Disputes between users
Use the in-app dispute flow first. We review evidence from both sides and make a call on the escrowed funds. Our decision on escrow is final within the platform, but nothing here stops you from pursuing legal remedies under Canadian law.
09Our responsibilities and limits
We work hard to keep the platform safe, but we can't guarantee an event won't be cancelled, a venue won't deny entry, or that every user behaves. Where the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount of the transaction in question. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law that can't be waived.
10Your content
You own your listings, reviews, and vouches. You give us permission to display them in the app and in link previews (e.g., when you share a listing).
11Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime (Profile → Settings → Delete my account). Pending transactions must complete or cancel first. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
12Changes to these terms
If we change something meaningful, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use VouchTix after that means you accept the change.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. Disputes go to courts in Toronto, Ontario.
